Hi Rob, to the best of my knowledge we don't. While I'm not positive, I think your normal worming regimen of Ivermec or whatever you use, will protect you. I think Peter would be better qualified to confirm if what I'm saying is right or not though.
No, you don't need to worry about heartworm. Even if it was a concern Ivermectin is an effective medication for this. The Maritimes are also not a heartworm endemic area.
